Spurred into action by a text message between a hungry niece and her four Aunties, Chef Auntie cooks up a serving of the new Crispy Sesame Shrimp & Beef.
Our hero meal then embarks on an electric motorcycle chase sequence through a futuristic neon city, ending on a warm moment in the niece’s apartment.
This 30 second spot was fully hand drawn over five weeks. We used a team of background artists and animators all over the world to properly achieve this Akira-inspired anime style. We paid tribute to the Chinese origins of the brand through references like mahjong and traditional characters in the street signs, and snuck in as many panda references as we possibly could.
